I had a commitment to fulfil with this commission, which is why it stands out so starkly against my normal work.
Straight black lines, pristine white and boxes of primary colours are very far removed from my usual preoccupations with natural forms.For all their apparent simplicity, achieving a satisfying balance of colour in these compositions is surprisingly challenging.
