Postcard From Cyprus, 2007

This painting was commissioned on the basis of my work on ‘Realities,’ and was to be a surprise Christmas gift, commissioned by the sitter’s wife. I had only a couple of poor quality photographs of the sitter to work from, who lived in Germany. It was to include his motorbike, a cigarette and his favourite haunt in Cyprus, where he often came to bike.

On account of the short deadline I had I worked in acrylic on canvas, 70 x 50 cm.

The painting is in Germany.

Prints of this painting are available in various sizes and qualities. Limited edition of high quality Giclee prints.

Acrylic painting. Portrait of a bearded man with greying hair, looking pensive. He wears a blue T-shirt. Behind his head and shoulders we see him standing in biker gear, smoking, with arms wide. Also behind him are his motorbike & a Cypriot church.
