A good traveller has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving
The thing about having no fixed plans and not being intent on arriving is that you can enjoy the journey…..!
And while you are enjoying the journey you can stop and wonder – at the flower or the view or the way the ink flows over the sensuous, hand-made paper….
Unwittingly, this has been my guiding principal as an artist in my love affair with the things that I see and the light and colour that illuminate them and the materials that I use. It is what drives my creative process because, while I am working I am stopping along the way and asking ‘What Happens If….?’
So I am not a ‘Figurative Artist’ or a ‘Landscape Artist’ or an ‘Abstract Artist’ or any other kind of particular kind of artist. I am simply an Artist who explores the Creative Journey. Making marks on the canvas must become meditative. If I hurtle blindly on towards a ‘finished’ work, I will pass over some of the most truthfully connected moments.
